What about this weather then eh! Just ridiculous, I can remember a summer ever being that bad. High wind ], low pressure followed by much of the same. There where some good fish about but boys they where not easy to catch.
I had two clients this weekend, mark from wales and simon also from wales. Mark started with me and I'm afraid thing just did not go his way, he missed one fish on the top but that was it for the day. The weather refused to play ball and kept us off my most productive marks.
I fished with Simon yesterday and things where not much better, we started at an estuary mark early doors and things looked good. One fish came to the feed popper (chartruse back in stock) but then the wind got up the temp drooped and that was that. All manner of plastics and top water lures where worked to no avail.
At this stage I was getting the hump and determined to find some fish so off we went to a local rock mark. It was taking the full brunt of the sw wind, with big waves milky water and very wet pluggers!!!
Simon sought a bit of advice on the plug to use and i suggested a zonk as it would bite down in the chop. When I turned to see simon's rod bent double tha phrase thank f*ck sprang to mind. He did a great job and played his fish out in the big swell. All in all a cracking result for what can only be described as terrible conditions.
Simon had another today on a low water amrk I put him on, fishing over kelp with th etrusty Z claw. Well done Si it ciuldn't have happened to a nicer chap. Both simon and Mark confirmed what I always thought welsh men are good auld crack.
My new web site for the guiding anf tackle sales is getting there bit by bit, it takes a lot of work folks let me tell ye. I just got in a huge order and lures and plastic, especially aimed at the Atumn and winter fishing so give me a bell if you need anything. Also have plenty of rods and reels in stock.

Nice one Pat,, I know Simon was stoked about coming over and catching a nice bass off the top, in such shallow water too, maybe one day I'll head over to the land of my grandfathers and try for some Waterford/Wexford bass, Take care,, Marc..
